Ms. Adam A. Hanne is a Malian-American, first generation born and raised in the United States. Adam’s parents and a majority of her family were born and raised in Bamako, Mali and Sinfra, Côte d’Ivoire. Growing up in a Malian household, she personally witnessed the differences in social economical statue between the western world and west Africa. One particular difference was the health inequalities within west African countries. These differences were always made clear growing up in America through media, entertainment, and news. These early encounters and memories of her native country influenced Adam’s decision to physically invest a majority of her time in valuing those who are at a great disadvantage medically, economically, and socially.  

In 2017, a year after graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Intensive Psychology, Adam decided to go back to school and complete her pre-requisite courses for pharmacy school.  

Today, Adam is a second-year student at the University of Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, where she is gaining knowledge about the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. During her first year there, Adam met her former Dean, Dr. Dhiren Thakker, who introduced her to Med Aditus. Its mission, to serve the undeserved in Sub-Saharan Africa, was aligned with her dreams of valuing those who face many disparities. Adam believes that everyone deserves quality healthcare, and she wants to make sure that this reality can be experienced by everyone.
